This is my hand bound book made with 13 signatures of 3 folio's which creates 156 pages of Mohawk Superfine 100 lb paper. The green, blue and purple stitching are 2 needle coptic stitches. The caterpillar stitch also holds the pages together and binds them to the covers. The book is meant to have an exposed spine to reveal the details in the stitches. The book is 2 and 3/4 inches by 4 and 1/4 inches. The book cost me around 2 dollars in materials through the school but took 7 hours to stitch together. The covers are created from book board covered with handmade Japanese paper.
