David Hockney is known for combining images taken with a Polaroid camera and creating a montage. This is an image influenced by his technique where I took 1 photograph of 4 trash bins outside a local store and layered over 20 different images of identical trash bins from around the city, on top of the original 4. Some images were taken from different times of day, creating a time laps. Each photograph includes an element from at least one trash bin.
